The Western Cape Closed 2026 was a fantastic experience for Mini Masters Chess Academy, with 16 participants proudly representing the academy from different schools — 5 from Rhenish, 5 from Somerset College, 4 from Eikestad and 2 from Stellenbosch Laerskool. In his most recent tournament (Tshwane Chess Registration Tournament u/12 Section 1) , Ewan delivered an outstanding result, winning every game and finishing with a perfect score of 5/5 , taking 1st place in style. The very next day , Ewan competed in another tournament (JMC 2026 Kick off Tournament - U12) and once again played brilliantly, scoring 3.5/5 .
