My name is Khadidja Latreche and I am a Woman International Master (WIM) from Algeria. I have been playing chess for the past 29 years (since I was five years old) and I have been coaching professionally for the past twelve years. I obtained my WIM title in 2013 at the age of 23. Recently I have been playing less actively and focusing more on providing a professional coaching service, although I do still frequently play online.
I decided to create this blog to reach a broader audience and to share some of my experiences of and thoughts on chess. I hope to do some posts covering typical chess concepts that I cover in my lessons with my students, such as: king and pawn endgames, general endgame principles, general opening principles, activity, domination, lessons you can learn from the World Champions, classic games and so on. I also hope to cover some more general topics such as: common mistakes and how to avoid them, how to reduce blundering, how to use online chess more effectively to improve your chess, what you should study in chess (when and why), the importance of psychology and many more.
I hope that there will be something interesting and useful for everybody on my blog! If there are any topics that you would like to have covered or you have a question, feel free to get in touch with the contact form on the main page. Don't forget to subscribe to receive notifications for new content and to keep up-to-date!
I would like to finish the post by sharing one of my favourite endgame studies, composed by Richard Réti in 1921:

White to play and draw
Have fun solving it!
